Bob Watterson

Founder / Chief Executive Officer

Bob Watterson is an entrepreneur with a sales and management background in financial services and technology. After graduating from Dartmouth College, he began his career at Procter & Gamble in their sales management training program.

He moved into financial services and founded First Financial, a residential mortgage company. There he conceived and created FirstFacts, one of the mortgage industry's first Decision Support tools, to help consumers navigate the myriad of loan choices.

MyHealthMath uses a similar approach, combining consumer interviews with proprietary algorithms to help employees and their employers understand optimal health plan choices for their unique circumstances.

Brendan Canning

Chief Revenue Officer

Brendan Canning has been in the benefits industry for over 25 years and has held sales roles at multiple insurance carriers. Brendan came to MyHealthMath after working at Metlife for 15 years, first as an Account Executive in San Francisco and then in an executive role as National Sales Director. At Metlife, he was responsible for specialty markets, which focused on multiple employer entities such as associations, trusts, and professional employer organizations (PEOs).

Brendan’s experience gives him unique insight into the different distribution avenues of insurance products and services through carriers, brokers, TPAs, benefits administration platforms, and enrollment firms.

Elizabeth Coté

Chief Mission Officer and Medical Director

A native Mainer, Elizabeth Coté, MD, MPA, is a physician and health policy advisor with twenty years of operational experience overseeing and expanding national and international initiatives to improve transparency, access, and quality of health care.

After earning her medical degree at Harvard Medical School and her master’s degree from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, Elizabeth spent her career dramatically improving systems of health care—from serving as a White House Fellow during the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, to reducing opioid dependence while working in Maine for the U.S. Indian Health Services, to providing medical relief for earthquake victims in Haiti.

At MyHealthMath, Elizabeth leverages her expertise in systems-thinking and quality improvement science to empower individuals and their employers to make informed and cost-effective decisions about their health.

Dave Widener

Chief Technology Officer

Although a 'flatlander' by birth, David Widener (Dave), MBA, considers himself a true Mainer in spirit, driven by his sincere love for the beautiful place MyHealthMath calls home.  Over the course of his career, Dave has built and led innovative and transformative technology teams from widely diverse fields such as life sciences and gaming, to healthcare and energy.  Dave's leadership experience ranges from multinational conglomerates to small technology-based startups and everything in between.

After pursuing both his undergraduate degree in business information technology and a masters degree in geography at Ohio University, Dave took a spin in cartography, making digital maps for Rand McNally in Chicago.  Although Dave's love of maps is real (and bordering on obsession), he found it hard to make his rent on the humble salary of a map maker.  Upon taking a couple of C programming classes while still a cartographer, Dave quickly found himself officially back in IT, rent fully paid, and has not looked back since.

In his previous roles, Dave has created compelling digital brands, valuable technology products and services, as well as engaging customer experiences for numerous companies.  As Chief Technology Officer at MyHealthMath, Dave leverages his keen sense of how differentiated technology and an empowering customer experience can transform the quality and efficiency of health plan decision-making for both employees and employers.
